Help Save Logtown Climbing
UPDATE:
8/19/24: Everything is looking good. After talking to a representative from the Western Reserve Land Conservancy (WRLC), we are still waiting to hear about the Capitol Budget, which has been signed by the Governor. The details of the grant aren't available yet. The WRLC has received an extension until March 2025, although they hope to have everything in order by the end of the year.
The following is a breakdown of the funds raised by the Ohio Climbers Coalition (OCC):
At the time of this update, climbers have donated $6,060. Of that, $5,000 will go towards the purchase price of the property. The OCC agreed to match up to $5,000.00, which brings the total to $10,000 going towards the purchase of the property. The remaining $1,060 and any remaining donations will go towards the cost of benches.
One of the things the property owner wanted at the beginning was 3 benches, one each dedicated to the sisters that own the Kerestes property. The WRLC asked the OCC if we would purchase and install the benches. The OCC Board approved the request. Once the property purchase is finalized, details of the benches such as type, cost and location will be worked out. If there are any remaining funds available they will be used for future projects at Logown.
The donation page is still open on our website, https://www.ohioclimberscoalition.org. Click on the black bar at the top of the homepage. There is a real time tally showing funds raised.
Thanks to everyone that has pitched in to help Save Logtown.
